Grace Lutheran San Diego Staff
Pastor, Rev. Brian W. Thomas
Pastor Brian Thomas received his divinity training from Christ College and Concordia Seminary. He is a Thinking Fellow of 1517 and has written books for New Reformation Publications and Creative Communications for the Parish. The membership of Grace Lutheran called Pastor Thomas to lead our church in 2018. As a former naval officer, he loves serving our active duty and retired veterans here in San Diego. Contact the office to schedule pastoral services including private confession, baptism, catechesis, confirmation, and pre-marital counseling.
Music Director/Organist, Dale Sorenson
Dale began organ lessons in grade school and went on to receive a music degree at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. Concurrently he served an apprenticeship in pipe organ building. Dale has worked with L.W. Blackinton & Assoc. pipe organ builders since 1984. He has been Curator of the Spreckels organ in Balboa Park since 2015 and is also on the Executive Board of the American Guild of Organists, San Diego Chapter. Prior to coming to Grace Lutheran, Dale served as organist/choirmaster at Pilgrim (now Victory) and Trinity Lutheran churches.
Office Manager, Gretchen Jordan
Mrs. Jordan brought her experience and a diversified background to the San Diego Grace Lutheran staff in 2010. She has kept us informed and organized ever since. Gretchen handles all the administrative duties, assists with Fellowship and is quite creative. She is usually the first person you talk to when you call the church and the first friendly smile you see when you visit. Originally from Pennsylvania, Gretchen makes her home in Bonita with husband, Mark, and Smokey the cat.
